DAYS & TIMES:
The Paintball Park is available seven days a week for "private groups" of 15 or more players, but they must make a reservation at least one week in advance. Use the Reservation Form to make a reservation. The Park is open every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 to 4:30 for individuals and smaller groups to play in "walk-on" games. Walk-on players who want to rent equipment do not have to reserve the rental gear in advance. But equipment rentals are on a first-come/first-served basis, and occasionally we have days where all the gear is rented out. Go to the FAQ link on our web site for more information.

RENTAL EQUIPMENT:
You can bring your own equipment or rent gear at the field. Our standard rental paint guns are high-quality JT Tac-5 semiautomatics. We also offer tournament-level AutoCockers with electronic feed systems as rental upgrades. (NOTE: AutoCockers and electronic-trigger paintguns cannot be used in the beginner walk-on games). In addition to paintguns, we rent goggles with full-face shields, belt/pouches with three ammo tubes for carrying extra paintballs, CO2 and HP gas cylinder, barrel safety socks, electronic loaders, storage lockers, and military camo-style jackets (we do not offer pants or coveralls for rent). Also, Compressed Air refills are included with standard paint gun rentals. An ID card MUST be held by us as security for rented equipment until the gear is returned at the end of play.

SUGGESTED CLOTHING:
We suggest that all participants at CP Paintball Park where long sleeve shirts, long pants, and close toed shoes with ankle support.  If you don’t have a suitable top we rent camouflage jackets of almost all sizes.  Although the paint does wash out of clothing, it is always a good idea not to wear any of your favorite clothes.  Shirts are required on the fields at all times!

FORMAT:
At 9:00 we give an orientation to explain the game rules, safety guidelines and rental gear. Immediately after we chrono the paintguns and start the first set of games. Play ends by 4:00. We average 12 to 16 games in a full day. Each game lasts 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the number of players in a group and the type of game. After a two-game set on a field, the players return to the staging area for a short break before going to a different field for another two-game set. Players continue rotating through our eight fields during the day, with a 45-minute lunch break around 12:00.

GAMES:
The most common paintball game is called "Capture the Flag." Players are divided into two equal teams, and each team has a flag at their base. If you can cross the field, pull their flag, and bring it back to your base before they capture yours, you win. Another common game scenario is "Center Flag," where there is only one flag in the middle of the field. Your team has to get the flag and push through your opponents to hang it at their base. We also can play "Elimination," where there is no flag and only total annihilation of the opposition wins, and "Attack & Defend," where a small force must hold a defensive position against the attack of a larger force.

FIELDS:
The Paintball Park is 50 acres in a box canyon approximately eight miles from the beach. Ocean breezes keep the Paintball Park cool, even in the hottest months of summer. The facility has a large staging area with plenty of parking spots and picnic tables for the players. There are eight fields at the site. They offer a wide variety of terrain with bunkers, buildings, trenches, big trees, and sandbag fortifications to keep the play interesting and challenging.

FOOD & DRINK:
Drinking water is available at the Park, and we have Gatorade, sodas and candy bars for sale. Most players go to McDonald’s (about a mile down the road) for lunch or order pizza (Domino’s on base delivers to the field). Or you can bring your own food and drinks. NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED

PAINTBALLS:
If you use our rental paintguns, you must shoot our paintballs. This requirement prevents you from having problems with accuracy and ball breakage, which can happen if you shoot old or poor-quality paintballs through our paintguns. We supply premium-quality, fresh paintballs. Our Rental Packages include 500 rounds, which are plenty of paintballs for 6-to-10 games for most players. You can bring your own paintballs to use in your own paintgun, or you can purchase paintballs at the field. No red-colored paint and no paint that stains!

AGE & SAFETY RULES:
There is no minimum age requirement, but as a general rule, we do not recommend paintball for kids under 14. The competition level and safety requirements of paintball can be too intense and demanding for pre-teens. Paintball is an extremely safe sport, as long as players follow the simple safety guidelines. This is why we have refs supervising the games, and why we strictly enforce our safety rules. If a child is too immature to follow the safety rules, he is too young to play paintball. Our insurance requires a completed and signed "liability waiver/safety agreement" from every participant and spectator. Go to the FAQ link for more information.

DIRECTIONS:
From Hwy 5, take the "Camp Pendleton/Ocean Harbor Dr." exit. Go east a few hundred yards to the main gate. Tell the MP guard you are going to the Paintball Park. He will want to see your license, registration and car insurance. Once you are through the main gate, there are no turns. Drive straight down the road approximately 7.5 miles. The park is on the right side, and there is a big "Paintball Park" sign.

SPECIAL EVENTS:
Once or twice a year we have special events at the field, like tournaments or big games, which shut down the normal walk-on play. Also, we are not open for walk-on play during the week, even on holiday weekdays (but we are available for private group reservations). Check the Special Events link on our website. Any changes to the regular schedule will be posted there.
